Five of our pupils were selected to represent our school and East Devon in the Devon virtual gymnastics finals. All of our children performed amazingly well and we are extremely proud of them for showing such passion and self-belief when performing. A huge thank you to Devon School Games and Active Devon for organising this event for us. #ActiveDevon #DevonSchoolGames

Owls Class had a fun filled afternoon baking their final product. They split into three groups and took it in turns, following step by step instructions. The biscuits were all very unique. Thank you so much to our parent volunteers who helped us too.

Red Nose Day 2025 Today we invited children to come to school in non-school uniform with a red theme. Our play leaders ran sports challenges at lunch time which were based around the 40th anniversary of Comic Relief. We are taking donations on the gate and look forward to sharing how much we have raised. #rednoseday #rednoseday2025 #comicrelief2025

As part of Design and Technology, Owls Class have been busy thinking about the perfect biscuit. They have conducted some market research (including tasting various delicious biscuits), they have thought about the type of biscuit they want to make and have designed their own packaging. They are looking forward to budgeting next week and then finally getting to spend some time in the kitchen baking their product.

On Friday, KS2 had an amazing morning taking part in some archery sessions. Each child had some practice shots and then a few children from each year group were selected to compete in a national virtual archery competition, run by Premier Education. We look forward to finding out how we got on!

World Book Day We have had the best day here at St. Andrew's. The children have put in lots of effort with their costumes. We have had Gangsta Granny, Paddington Bear, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Where's Wally, various Harry Potter characters and much more. #WorldBookDay2025

We rounded off a very busy wellbeing week with a day of Circus Skills Workshops with Dance Fusion Circus. Everyone got the chance to have a go with a variety of different pieces of equipment and to have a go at mastering a new skill or two. The perseverance shown by each and every child was incredible to see. Witnessing the joy on their faces as they shared their successes with each other was an excellent way to end a busy half term.

We had lots and lots of entries into our wellbeing-themed colouring and drawing competitions last week and it was very tricky to narrow all of those down to a few of our favourites! The successful children were very excited to choose a prize from our big box of goodies. Well done to everyone who entered and an even bigger congratulations to our winners.

Today has been action-packed and full of wellbeing activities. The morning began with some live music, where the children sang and danced their way to break time. Our ambassadors then ran a wellbeing treasure hunt at lunch time. This afternoon, most of the school gathered in the hall for a movie, colouring and flapjack making. What an exciting day!

We would like to also say a special thank you to our wonderful Friends of School who kindly purchased musical instruments for our children to play at lunch time. They used them for the first time today and we can already tell that we are going to have some amazing musicians in school. @fos_chardstockprimary

Today was day three of our wellbeing week. We enjoyed an extra disco at lunch time, we also had our bubble machine out and then this afternoon our older children enjoyed a buddy reading session with our younger children.

Yesterday was day two of our wellbeing week and a non school uniform day with a theme of 'wear what you love'. The children were super excited to be able to eat their pudding first if they wanted to at lunch time. They also enjoyed some super sports activities which were planned by our play leaders. This included running races, hurdles and penalty shoot outs. We were then very fortunate to have a visit from Rev'd Nicky who came to hold a special wellbeing worship.
