Maths:

Please continue with your fractions booklet provided in the 'lockdown' packs. There is about 40 pages in this booklet. Aim for around an hour's work on this each day until completed. Alongside this and for afterwards please see the attached maths learning below:

Number and Place Value Booklet

Multiplication and Division Booklet

Fractions Booklet (included in original lockdown pack)

Statistics Booklet

For support with the written methods to calculating, use the website: https://www.khanacademy.org/math

Khan Academy has a variety of videos and activities to support your maths learning.

Writing:

Please find below the learning provided in the lockdown packs:

Lockdown Writing home learning

The children should aim to write at least 2-3 extended pieces of writing a week to keep up their quality writing during the term time. Once you have completed the 6 required pieces of writing in the lockdown pack keep writing and use the websites below for inspiration.

The Literacy Shed - https://www.literacyshed.com/home.html

Pobble 365 - http://www.pobble365.com/

Reading:

The children must continue to read books of their choice - ensuring that they are challenging enough to give new vocabulary - for at least 30 minutes a day. This is known as 'reading for pleasure'. Below is a list of challenges to focus the children's reading. When they finish chapters, books or every few days they are to complete a challenge which will be compiled as a 'reading journal'.

Reading_journal_challenges.PNG
Attached in the lockdown pack were a range of reading comprehensions - similar to the Y6 SATS style. This is an important skill to continue practicing and improving throughout the time away from school. Undertaking reading comprehensions (questions about a text) is known as 'reading for progress'.
Below are the reading comprehensions from the lockdown pack as well as a variety of others to download and complete:
