We were very lucky to attend a whole school trip yesterday to watch Jack and the Beanstalk. Two of our pupils were picked to go up on stage and we could not be prouder of all of our children for the brilliant way in which they represented our school. Special thanks must go to Miss Williamson for organising this trip and to our volunteers and staff for making it possible.

Yesterday, our wonderful Friends of School team came in to school to support the children with making their Christingles. We were then joined by RVD Nicky who came in to school for worship to teach the children about what each part of the Christingle represents. Thank you to all local businesses who donated items for these.

Hedgehogs and Squirrels enjoyed a cricket session with Chris Brown from Devon Cricket last week.
The children were taught the correct bowling technique and also practised throwing accurately.
Everyone was extremely pleased to see the sun shine and we made the most of it by completing these sessions on our amazing playground.
The other classes all enjoyed a session with Chris too and are looking forward to one final session with him before Christmas.

Our year 6 children had the opportunity to learn how to 'Waffle' on Wednesday.
Matt and Simon from Axminster Community Waffle House taught our children how to strike up conversations, listen up to other people and to follow up responses with thoughtful questions.
They also shared some top tips about the importance of Care, Curiosity and Confidence when talking to others.
Our pupils then had the chance to put their new skills to the test by talking to some unfamiliar adults in the Waffle House.
Their hard work was rewarded with a delicious waffle!
We received some lovely feedback from the adults that we met throughout the day - thank you to year 6 for being such fantastic representatives of our school.

Over the past few weeks, we have taken part in a variety of football activities as part of the #MonsterKickabout initiative.
Today, we used our new footballs and bibs to host some inter-class football matches.
We have also set up some skills-based challenges as well as using some of the other resources to design our own Top Trumps cards, football kits and football mascots.
It has been amazing to see so many of our children getting involved!
Thanks to our playleaders and Sports Direct for making this possible.

Yesterday, we invited children to dress up in Pudsey themed non-uniform. We took part in some sporty Pudsey challenges too and held a cake sale after school. We raised an incredible £165 for Children in Need.

We were incredibly proud of our Year 6 children who represented us at the Axminster Armistice Day act of Remembrance. The local community joined together to reflect and show their gratitude at 11am this morning. The children from Chardstock, alongside those from other local schools, showed their respect and read beautifully during the service. Lest We Forget.

We've had a fantastic 'Disco Friday' today!
Our wonderful Friends Of School have bought us some new pompoms and ribbons to enjoy whilst we're dancing to the music.
Thank you to our FoS committee and everyone who supports their events in order to raise money for these extra treats for us in school.

Yesterday afternoon, Foxes Class showcased their incredible, handmade, recycled bags to the rest of the school. The children wore clothes to compliment their bags and walked the runway to their song of choice. It was wonderful to see all of their unique designs.
