VE80 Anniversary The children created some beautiful themed bunting which you will spot on our school gates. They also took part in a worship where they learnt about the importance of today. Year 6 children were invited to join the Axminster Service where one pupil shared a prayer on behalf of our school. At lunch time the children enjoyed a traditional fish and chip dinner which was eaten picnic style on our school field.

On Tuesday, we had a visit from the Easter Bunny. The children took part in an easter egg hunt and were rewarded with a chocolate egg at the end. We would like to say a big thank you to Friends of School who purchased the eggs and volunteered their help with this event. Is it just us or does the Easter Bunny look suspiciously like Miss Williamson?

We have had a busy time on the playground today! The children have run a Pokémon treasure hunt and a football target game (with Pokéballs targets). We have also had the opportunity to do some football and Pokémon mindfulness colouring as part of this week's wellbeing Wednesday. #SchoolsFootballWeek #SFW2025

Schools' Football Week - Day Two Don't our playleaders look fabulous in their new tops? Today, they ran a football challenge, which they named 'Ping Ring', and a penalty shoot-out challenge. Our Ethos Committee has been working alongside Mrs Butler to design and create a quiet area that the children can use at break and lunch time. We would like to say a special thank you to Pete who works as part of our premises team and helped to put pieces together for us.

Five of our pupils were selected to represent our school and East Devon in the Devon virtual gymnastics finals. All of our children performed amazingly well and we are extremely proud of them for showing such passion and self-belief when performing. Owls Class had a fun filled afternoon baking their final product. They split into three groups and took it in turns, following step by step instructions. The biscuits were all very unique. Thank you so much to our parent volunteers who helped us too.

Red Nose Day 2025 Today we invited children to come to school in non-school uniform with a red theme. Our play leaders ran sports challenges at lunch time which were based around the 40th anniversary of Comic Relief. We are taking donations on the gate and look forward to sharing how much we have raised. #rednoseday #rednoseday2025 #comicrelief2025

As part of Design and Technology, Owls Class have been busy thinking about the perfect biscuit. They have conducted some market research (including tasting various delicious biscuits), they have thought about the type of biscuit they want to make and have designed their own packaging. They are looking forward to budgeting next week and then finally getting to spend some time in the kitchen baking their product.

On Friday, KS2 had an amazing morning taking part in some archery sessions. Each child had some practice shots and then a few children from each year group were selected to compete in a national virtual archery competition, run by Premier Education. We look forward to finding out how we got on!

World Book Day We have had the best day here at St. Andrew's. The children have put in lots of effort with their costumes. We have had Gangsta Granny, Paddington Bear, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Where's Wally, various Harry Potter characters and much more. #WorldBookDay2025
